Born in Bulindi, Hoima, Uganda, Claire Leya is a talented and versatile Gospel artist, singer, vocal coach, and songwriter. Raised in a Christian family, Claire’s love for music was nurtured from a young age. She began singing in Sunday school and later pursued a career in music, officially releasing her first Gospel song in 2021.

Early Life and Education
Claire Leya was born to Wamani Knock and the late Monday Roseline. She studied at Murubya Primary School, Mandela SSS, and St. Andrea Kahwaaz Collection, all in Hoima. She later attended Makerere University but had to drop out due to financial constraints. Despite this setback, Claire pursued her passion for music and became a producer and vocal coach.

Music Career
Claire’s music style blends genres, incorporating soulful ballads, reggae, ragga, and afrobeat. Her powerful voice and genre-bending style have earned her significant recognition in Uganda, East Africa, and beyond. Some of her popular songs include “Vega,” “Wobale,” “Nkulembeza Gwe,” “Party Mood,” “Chekecha for God,” and “Wantonderwa.” Her latest single, “Nindilira Yesu” (Waiting upon the Lord), is a soul-stirring ballad that encourages listeners to trust in God’s timing and plan.

Claire Leya’s powerful song, “Nindilira Yesu,” draws inspiration from Psalms 130:5, Psalms 27:14, Romans 8:25, and Isaiah 40:31.
