According to a recent report by CBC News<\/em> (Apr. 20, 2025), biblical stories are enjoying a surprising resurgence both at the box office and on streaming platforms. The animated film King of Kings<\/em>, retelling the life of Jesus, stunned critics with a $19 million U.S. debut. Meanwhile, The Chosen<\/em> season five, with its theatrical premiere strategy, has earned more than $36 million worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon Prime\u2019s House of David<\/em> also proved faith content isn\u2019t just for the big screen, pulling in more than 22 million viewers within its first 17 days. Even mainstream studios like Lionsgate are joining the wave, with The Best Christmas Pageant Ever<\/em> crossing $40 million despite tough competition. And on the horizon are projects from Martin Scorsese, Terrence Malick, and Mel Gibson \u2014 all rooted in Christ\u2019s story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
