After almost 170 years of ministry, Spurgeon\u2019s College in the UK has closed its doors<\/strong>, citing financial challenges and declining student numbers. According to Premier Christian News<\/em>, historic artefacts \u2014 including Charles Spurgeon\u2019s study bookcase, antique theology books, and even the trowel he used to lay the college\u2019s foundation stone \u2014 are being auctioned this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us in Africa, this story is sobering. It shows that even the richest heritage cannot sustain an institution without adaptability and wise stewardship. Many of our own seminaries and Bible schools face similar pressures. The question is: how do we prepare for the future so that gospel training remains strong, affordable, and relevant?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closure reminds us that buildings and artefacts may fade, but the mission of Christ continues. Our call is to invest not just in structures, but in people \u2014 men and women equipped to carry the gospel with depth, conviction, and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
