The logic: because she is a public figure, especially in gospel music, she is expected to stay silent, avoid conflict, or give in to demands to \u201cprotect the brand.\u201d\u201cWhat they are really saying is, \u2018You can\u2019t afford to be human,\u2019\u201d Rukundo says. \u201cYou can not be tired. You can not be hurt. You can not say no. The public image of a gospel artist is often held to near-perfect standards \u2014 gentle, always forgiving, always available. But that image does not leave space for boundaries, mistakes, or healing.\u201cYour real self has bills, trauma, family issues, bad days,\u201d she says. \u201cBut your public image is supposed to smile and sing on cue. But if we don not talk about its cost, we will keep losing good people to silence, depression, and compromise.\u201dFor her, the solution is honesty. Ministry does not require perfection. It requires integrity.
