Alive in the Park is an annual gospel festival that brings together top African gospel artists and regional stars. Organized by Shadrack Kuteesa, founder of Vine Entertainment Group, it has become a staple in the Christian music scene. Past headliners include Pompi and Esther Chungu from Zambia, Limoblaze from Nigeria, Theresa Phondo from Malawi, and MojjiShort Babba from Kenya, alongside regional talents like Coopy Bly and John Mary.
Shadrack Kuteesa’s Story
Shadrack Kuteesa, an ambassador of Christ and anti-drug abuse advocate, has a powerful testimony. After struggling with substance abuse for six years, he surrendered his life to Christ in December 2015 and recently celebrated 10 years of sobriety. His journey has inspired him to use his platform to promote faith and positivity.
The Festival’s Journey
Despite challenges, including hosting virtual events during the COVID-19 pandemic, Alive in the Park has steadily grown in popularity. The first physical edition in 2022 was a success, and the fifth edition has now exceeded expectations. Shadrack Kuteesa attributes this growth to faith, persistence, and reliance on God’s grace.
Lessons Learned
From his experience, Shadrack Kuteesa shares two key lessons:
- Trusting God’s Grace – Surrendering to the Holy Spirit and relying on God’s provision has been central to the festival’s success.
- Persistence – Despite setbacks, including financial losses, he encourages others to never give up but to keep trusting God’s plan.
The Future
As Alive in the Park continues to grow, Shadrack Kuteesa calls on the body of Christ to unite and support events that uplift faith and positivity. With God’s grace, the festival will keep inspiring lives for years to come.
